Samsung Ultrabook now available for pre-order in Europe
The recently unveiled Samsung Series 5 NP530 Ultrabook will be the manufacturer’s first entry in the Intel-oriented ultrathin notebook market and users in Europe can now pre-order the unit for 799 Euros.
According to ultrabooknews.com, the 13.3-inch notebook will carry a Core i5-2467M with 4GB RAM, 1366x768 resolution matte display, 44Wh integrated battery, VGA-out, Ethernet and even USB 3.0. Overall, the notebook is expected to weigh 1.4kg (3.09 pounds).
Of note here is the laptop’s choice of storage solution. Similar to the Acer Aspire S3, the NP530 will make use of both an HDD and an SSD, presumably to save costs since SSD prices are currently quite high. Even the look and color of the Samsung notebook mimics that of the Acer Ultrabook.
The German pre-order site lists the NP530 for a February 21st shipment date. Given the specs, the Samsung notebook has a good chance of performing similarly to the Acer Aspire S3, but we’re not drawing any conclusions until we go hands-on with a review.
