The Samsung Q45 Aura T7100 Damali is top equipped with 200 GB hard disk, 2 GB main memory and Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS with 256 MB. It takes the lead of the 12.1" class. It seems to be a real insider tip, because of its real dumping price, good equipment, good looking design. Unfortunately, Samsung follows the new trend, which should actually be boycotted. Just read more about it in this review.

The Samsung Q45 is a great laptop for those who need a portable machine that offers a great battery life, but doesn't cut corners on performance. It won't suit all users, as the screen is small, but for the price, this is a great laptop.

Overall Samsung's updated HSDPA Q45 (H001) is a great little machine, which despite its dated chassis and other flaws is packed with features and some decent specifications. But at over £900, it simply costs too much compared to the competition or even other Q45 models, which offer good value for money.

Despite the slightly ageing chassis the Samsung Q45 is still a superb portable laptop at the price, especially for the student. Battery performance is very impressive and though you won't be throwing games or intensive processing tasks at it, it'll tackle most typical computing activities comfortably. Thus, if you want portability at the right price and an Asus Eee PC 900 doesn't offer the performance you need, this is still worth serious consideration.

Can you go anywhere with this ultraportable laptop? Samsung continues to overhaul its notebook range with the Q45. This is a lightweight entry-level machine that uses its new Aura design, which includes a piano-lacquer style of finish. This gives the Q45 a great look that is highly reflective but it soon gathers dust and fingerprints. Being made from tough plastic, the build quality is sturdy with plenty of protection on the lid. More alarming is the fact that we found it easy to scratch, which doesn’t bode well for the long-term life of the machine. We’d advice carrying this machine around in a notebook slipcase or skin. When it comes to performance, you’ll find an Intel 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo T7100 delivering more than sufficient power for every day tasks.

Samsung's popular Q series of notebooks has had a recent addition to the family line-up - the Q45 - which continues the family trait of highly portable, well-featured business laptops and adds in the latest Intel Santa Rosa technology and a really strong price tag. In the spirit of "if it ain't broke don't fix it", the Q45 looks like it uses the same chassis as its predecessor, the Q35, with the only apparent change being the front of the chassis, which is now rounded off. The Q45's style and finish will cause divisions with its shiny, piano-black exterior offset by the matt black finish of the interior. You can hear the shouts of "It looks like a Thinkpad!" even now, but it makes a pleasant change from all the silver-and-grey systems around at the moment. Measuring just 299 x 217 x 36.3mm, the well-built Q45 weighs in at 2.35kg including the power brick, meaning you can carry this baby all day and not really notice it.

Samsung: Samsung Group is the largest South Korean conglomerate and was founded in 1938. Samsung Group employed 489,000 people in 2014 and is one of the world's largest companies in terms of revenue and market strength. The name Samsung means "Three Stars" in Korean and represents the three sons of the company's founder. The company was founded in 1938 as a grocery store. With its subsidiary Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969, Samsung took up the production of electrotechnical items, focusing on consumer electronics and household appliances at an early stage. Other branches in which the large corporation is active include mechanical engineering, automobiles (Hyundai), insurance, wholesale, real estate and leisure. Samsung manufactures a wide range of electronic products, including smartphones, televisions, home appliances and semiconductors. The company's Galaxy line of smartphones is one of the most popular in the world. Samsung is also a major player in the semiconductor industry, making memory chips and processors for many other electronics manufacturers.
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100 is an integrated (onboard) graphic chip on a Mobile Intel 965GM chipset. It is the successor of GMA 950 and features a fully programmable pipeline (supports Aero Glass fully and DirectX 10 with newest drivers). The peformance of the X3100 is clearly better than the GMA 950, still demanding modern games won't run fluently.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS: NVidia GeForce 8400M GS is the DirectX 10 capable successor of the GeForce Go 7400 for laptops and technologically a slower 8400M GT video card (because of the smaller 64 Bit memory bus).
» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
T7100: Entry level to mid-range (at the time of annoucement) dual core processor based on the Merom core.

78.53%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
