Reviews for the Samsung P560-54P

60% Samsung P560-54P 15.4-inch Thin and Light Laptop PC
Source: Comp Reviews English
Samsung's P560-54P is designed to be an affordable 15.4-inch thin and light laptop PC. While it certainly has a minimalistic design akin to a business class laptop, it has tough competition from the likes of Lenovo. While the screen is very bright and colorful thanks to the LED backlighting, the keyboard just doesn't cut it for a machine of this nature. The battery life is also well below Samsung's six hour rating with it generate roughly four hours on the tighest power settings.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS: Slower clocked 9600M GT and therefore a bit slower and cooler. In conjunction with an 9100M the 9600M GS is able to use HybridPower to save current.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).

The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.

P8400:

Middle class dual core CPU with a TDP of 25 Watt. For high end gamer the performance could be not sufficient (for class 1 graphic cards).

15.4": 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. Nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

2.6 kg: This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

Samsung: The Samsung Group is composed of numerous international businesses, all united under the Samsung brand in South Korea. The meaning of the Korean word Samsung is "tristar" or "three stars". The Samsung brand is one of the most important brands of South Korea. Samsung is an international notebook manufacturer of medium size according market shares and reviews.
