Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge aces triple crash test

Teaser
A new video shows that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge could come with some serious build quality. The smartphone was dropped on the floor three times, but no damage could be spotted at the end.

As many of you probably already know, a month ago Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 Edge, the world's first smartphone with a display that curves on both sides. The Galaxy S6 Edge features Gorilla Glass 4 on both the front and back, sandwiched around a metal chassis. Although a real crash test has yet to be performed, a new video shows that the smartphone can take a serious punch without manifesting any noticeable damage.

In the video, a woman furiously throws the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge three times on the floor. In one instance, we can clearly notice that the handset's display is the point of impact with the floor. Interestingly, the Galaxy S6 Edge survived these three crashes with any sign of damage. Obviously, this is not the most thorough drop test, but it sure is a clear indication that Gorilla Glass 4 is a very tough material that should provide sufficient protection for minor mishaps.

One other thing to mention about the Galaxy S6 Edge crash test video is that the floor is covered by some sort of carpet. The potential for damage would have been dramatically increased if the smartphone was to be dropped on a concrete floor or any tough material.
