Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime to feature aluminum body and improved specs
Samsung did not officially confirm the premium version of the Galaxy S5 flagship yet, but recently leaked images and videos of alleged pre-production units show an aluminum shell that will replace the current plastic case. This way, the Galaxy S5 Prime should match the upcoming LG G3 which is also expected to come with WQHD display and a brushed metal look.
PhoneArena received three images from an exclusive source which also revealed the use of a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor next to Adreno 420 graphics and 3 GB of memory. The original Samsung Galaxy S5 has a Snapdragon 801, 2 GB of memory and Adreno 330 graphics.
On the other hand, YouTube channel TK TECH NEWS shows a pre-production unit that only looks different but appears to have the same hardware specs as the Samsung Galaxy S5 already on the market. This handset runs Android 4.4.3 KitKat and its name appears to be Galaxy S5P (SM-906A).
Remains to be seen if the previously leaked SM-906S is the Galaxy S5 Prime that Samsung should announce soon. We will keep you posted as new information becomes available.
