Earlier reports tipping Samsung to launch the Galaxy S22 FE later this year with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 running things have now been called into doubt. No such plan exists, it appears, and the Galaxy S22 FE will debut with Snapdragon and/or Exynos silicon.

Over the past few weeks, reports have surfaced claiming that Samsung could be set to equip the Galaxy S22 FE with MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 flagship chipset. Going by new information, though, those reports may have been a bit off the mark.

As revealed by leaker Chunvn8888 on Twitter, Samsung appears to have no current plans to launch the Galaxy S22 FE with a Dimensity 9000 beneath the hood. The leaker, typically reliable, is vehement that the S22 FE will not debut with the Dimensity 9000 at all, and that opinion looks to be shared by another tipster—Yogesh Brar. As it stands, it'd be surprising if the Galaxy S22 FE debuted with anything other than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200.

As should be pointed out, the origin of the rumor—a Chinese leaker—claimed that the Dimensity 9000 would feature on either the Galaxy S22 FE or the "Galaxy A53 Pro". With the S22 FE now excluded, it's more likely that the Dimensity 9000 appears on a Galaxy A-series model, although we don't expect that phone to be branded as the Galaxy A53 Pro.
