Samsung Galaxy J5 specifications leaked via GFXBench
The popular benchmark revealed key specifications and the version of Android running on the smartphone.

In January, Samsung has applied for the Galaxy J1, J5 and J7 trademarks with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). The Galaxy J1 has already been officially announced by now and is currently available for about $140. The other two smartphones of the J-series are yet to be released, but thanks to GFXBench, the specifications of one of them just became known. Here's what the Galaxy J5 has to offer:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
  • Graphics: Qualcomm Adreno 306
  • RAM: 1.5 GB
  • Storage: 8 GB
  • Display: 5-inch, 1280x720
  • Main camera: 13 MP (with autofocus and LED flash), Full HD video recording
  • Front camera: 5 MP, Full HD video recording
  • Operating system: Android 5.0.2

It should be pointed out that Snapdragon 410 is a 64-bit SoC and supports LTE. Additionally, SamMobile reports that a simple TFT (not IPS or AMOLED) display will be used and that there will be a microSD slot. The battery capacity is allegedly 2600 mAh and there is a possibility that the final version of the smartphone will feature an 8 MP rear camera instead. The same applies to the Galaxy J7, which is rumored to use the same cameras. Its display resolution and RAM amount are identical as well; however, the display size is somewhat larger at 5.5 inches, the battery capacity is 3000 mAh and an octa-core Marvel PXA1936 SoC is utilized. It is not known yet how much Samsung will charge for either of these smartphones, but we expect them to be launched soon.
