A potential successor to the Galaxy J5 SM-J500 was found on a cargo tracking list from Zauba.com as an import to India.

The current Galaxy J5 is an affordable LTE smartphone retailing for roughly 185 Euros as of January 2016. Samsung, however, is reportedly well on its way to launching a J5 successor as a curious J5 model was spotted on the tracking service Zauba.com heading to India, possibly for testing purposes.

The source cites the model name SM-J510 on the tracking compared to the current SM-J500 model name on the 2015 Galaxy J5. Apparently, Samsung had purportedly shipped several functioning SM-J510 units to India back in November 2015 for evaluation.

As for specifications and hardware, a tracking code can only tell so much about the Galaxy J5 2016. Thus, only best guesses can be made on the actual innards of the device. It's possible that the J5 2016 could incorporate a larger 5.2-inch Super AMOLED HD display compared to the 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display on the J5 2015 without necessarily increasing dimensions. The existing J5 proved itself to be a respectable smartphone in our full review of the device.
