After the impressive refresh of the MacBook Air earlier this year, expectations were high that the MacBook Pro would be similarly improved. The result is both the 13-inch and 15-inch models have been significantly boosted in pretty much every way, and the the prices have even been shaved down a little.

The 13-inch MBP has a 13.3-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display and is available with either a dual-core 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 or a dual-core 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, and Intel Iris graphics.

The 15-inch model has a 15.4-inch 2880 x 1800 IPS display and is powered by either a quad-core 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 or a quad-core 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Pro graphics, and optional NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M discreet graphics.

Both models also feature OS X Mavericks, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of PCLe flash storage, the latest 802.11ac wifi, 2 Thunderbolt 2 ports, and improved battery life with the 13-inch offering up to 9 hours of run time while the 15-inch can run for up to 8 hours.

The two Macbook Pros are available now with prices ranging from US$1299 to US$1799 for the 13-inch model, and from US$1999 to US$2599 for the 15-inch.
