A new leak from Twitter tells us everything we need to know about the upcoming Realme 8i and Realme 8s. Both phones will run new MediaTek chipsets, but only the latter will be 5G-enabled. Realme is expected to unveil both smartphones alongside the Realme Pad on September 9.

The past few weeks have told us quite a bit about the affordable Realme 8i and Realme 8s. For starters, both smartphones will be the first to run MediaTek's newest Dimensity and Helio chipsets. They could be launched alongside the company's first-ever tablet, the Realme Pad, on September 9. Now, the entire Realme 8i and Realme 8s spec sheet has shown up online thanks to a now-deleted Tweet by @mdabubakar73709. Thankfully, Twitter leaker @GadgetsData managed to archive it in the nick of time.

Starting with the Realme 8s, we get a 5G-ready MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also offers the newest gimmick on the market, namely 'dynamic' RAM, which can theoretically increase the total memory on the device to 13GB. While its panel type and screen size aren't mentioned, the display's refresh rate is set at 90Hz. The Realme 8s will ship with three rear camera modules; a 64MP primary sensor and two 2MP macro/depth sensors. Lastly, the device will draw power from a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

Moving on to the Realme 8i, Realme's SoC of choice is a MediaTek Helio G96. Its memory and storage configuration is identical to the Realme 8s, but its dynamic RAM is capped at 10GB. Its rear camera array will replace the 64MP module with what we assume to be a superior 50MP sensor. The macro and depth sensors are identical. On that note, the Realme 8i will also feature a 120Hz display, very likely an LCD panel. Lastly, it reuses the same 5,000mAh battery but cuts the charging wattage to 18W, presumably due to SoC limitations.

Both the Realme 8i and Realme 8s will use a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls. At this point, very little is left to the imagination, except for minor details such as the panel type and screen size used in both smartphones. It'll be interesting to see how much these devices cost, given that they are incremental upgrades to the Realme 8 and Realme 8 5G launched earlier this year.
