RIM PlayBook for Sprint reportedly delayed
We first reported about a possible 4G PlayBook for Sprint back in January, but the possibilities are now looking slim for the cellular network.
According to GottaBeMobile, the Sprint BlackBerry PlayBook was supposed to launch May 8th, but an internal document leaked by BriefMobile claims the tablet has been delayed. To make matters worse, a new launch date was not given, so the actual release could be anyone’s guess. A recent report suggests a June release, however, so the new launch date may not be too far off.
The WiFi-only RIM PlayBook launched on April 19th in the U.S with unfortunate early reviews. Still, we expect the PlayBook to launch for a cellular carrier sometime down the road as that seems to be the trend for many other WiFi-only tablets. The HTC Flyer and Acer Iconia A500, for example, will be launching for Sprint and AT&T, respectively, in addition to their WiFi-only counterparts.
