Possible Motorola Xoom release date released by Best Buy

Teaser
Best Buy’s Facebook page offers clue to Xoom’s release date

One of the more anticipated tablet’s out there, the Motorola Xoom was the recipient of CES’s Best of Show Award earlier this year. Unfortunately, no official release date had been set for the first Honeycomb tablet. While an earlier leaked memo by Best Buy listed February 17th as the launch date, other rumors had the Xoom coming out as late as March 3rd. However, according to Best Buy Grand Rapids, Motorola has split it down the middle with a February 24th launch date.

The now removed post on Best Buy’s Facebook page listed various products and their release dates. Among those products were Verizon’s iPhone 4 (February 4th), HTC’s Thunderbolt (February 14th), Samsung’s Presto “Hotspot” (February 17th), and the Motorola Xoom for the 24th of February.

Motorola’s first tablet will include NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 Processor, Android OS 3.0 Honeycomb, 1 GB RAM, 32 GB of onboard storage, 5 MP rear-facing camera, and a 10.1” display with a resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels.  Motorola claims the Xoom tablet will have up to 10 hours of video playback and will weigh only 730 grams. The Xoom will reportedly sell for between $700 to $800 dollars.

While the release date is unverified as of known, the removal of the post does lend a certain amount of weight to the rumor. Only time will tell whether the rumor is true, but we’ll keep our ears open for official word till then.
