PlayStation 5 launch dates for countries in South America and Southeast Asia revealed and there's a long wait for gamers in Indonesia
Unfortunately, the dream of a worldwide simultaneous PlayStation 5 launch is long gone. With fans in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea preparing for an exciting day on Thursday (November 12), the “rest of the world” has to wait until a week later, on November 19. However, there are some countries that will have to wait even longer before the PS5 is made available to them.
In South America, it appears a November 19 launch date is also on the cards for many nations, although there is a delay for at least one unfortunate state. So while gamers in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru can collect their pre-ordered PS5 a week on Thursday, there is a longer wait ahead for those keen on making a purchase in Argentina: December 4 (a Friday). It's possible gamers in Uruguay and Paraguay will be in the same boat as their Argentine neighbors. In Central America, Panama will be greeting the next-gen console from Sony on November 19.
It’s not just Argentina that will witness a December PS5 launch though, as there are some countries in Southeast Asia that are in a similar situation. Singapore and Hong Kong are bundled into the November 19 launch but Malaysia and the Philippines are scheduled for December 11 launches. Future PlayStation 5 owners living in Indonesia will likely be dismayed to learn that the current launch date advertised for that island country is January 22, 2021. The launch date for China has still not yet been set, and there are many other countries that don't have an official launch date published on their country-specific PS5 pages at the moment, such as India, Thailand, and Vietnam.
