Panasonic Bizpad series targets enterprises with enhanced security features

Mocana Security systems will be preloaded on the Panasonic BizPads and might even make its way to other Android products from Panasonic

Recently Mocana, a company dealing with mobile security, has announced that Panasonic has agreed to include their FIPS certified Android security software on Panasonic’s new line of midsized tablets. The Mocana VeloDAR Encryption software will be pre-loaded on all Panasonic BizPad models including 7inch and 10.1inch models.

The VeloDAR is mainly designed to extend and enhance Android OS data encryption capabilities, which will help to create a secure platform better suited for sensitivity and mission critical environments. It is the most advanced data-at-rest security solution on the market for Android OEMs. It features a FIPS 140-2 level 1 certified encryption engine with AES-CBC 128-bit or AES-XTS 256 bit cryptography.

It is also expected to provide better security while maintaining optimal performance and user experience. The battery life also stays robust. So now manufacturers like Panasonic can be confident about their devices to receive a high security level with this software for the customers.

The new line of Panasonic BizPads for Android is secure, ruggedized tablets designed for heavy usage in business, or industrial environments. These devices are engineered to withstand G-shock and drops along with dust and water.

It will have mainly two variant one of 7inch while the other will be about 10.1inches. They will be featuring swappable battery packs, eliminating device downtime during charging, integrated IC reader, and will be enabled for two-factor authentication security.

According to Mocana Vice President of Market Development Kurt Stammberger, the new BizPads are at the forefront of the midsized tablets, and enterprise BYOD trends however both of these trends are underlining a more fundamental enterprise requirement that is mobile security. He also added that Mocana is proud to be built into these BizPad’s and are looking forward for even more android devices coming from Panasonic.
