Packard Bell's popularity stretches from UK across the British Channel to the Benelux countries and that's about it. Lately, we've heard many positive opinions about this brand, so it was a must to check a notebook of this kind.
Packard Bell Easynote TF71BM-C8R1
Acer's Packard bell EasyNote TF71BM has been hailed as a cheap affordable alternative with all the standard features found in a portable notebook. The matte 15.6" display apt for those performing typical tasks such as text processing, image processing, listening to music, surfing the internet or watching movies. The devices runs Windows 8.1 OS from Bing. Due to the integrated 750 MHz, HD and DirectX 11 supporting GPU from Intel, only games with low requirements on graphics can be played.
The notebook does not weigh much at 2.4 kg, which is lighter than average. It comes with a QWERTY chiclet keyboard, but does not have a numbers pad. Its big multi-touch ClickPad measures 10.6 x 7.8 cm and provides more maneuvering space. This notebook comes with an Intel Celeron N2830 processor at 2.16 GHz coupled and 2 GB single channel DDR3 RAM. The latter can sometimes slow down the user if too many windows are opened or too many tasks are running simultaneously. The 500 GB Seagate Momentous Thin ST500LT012-1DG142 has 420 GB free space.
One promising feature is the inclusion of a Matshita DVD-RAM with burner for those who still prefer the traditional medium of data transfer. This notebook is the answer to the severely budget constrained user in urgently in need of an office device.

Affordable long-runner. The low price is not the most striking property of the EasyNote TF71BM. It primarily attracts attention with its long battery life.

Packard Bell: Packard Bell is a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Acer. It is a name used by two different consumer electronics companies. The first was an American radio manufacturer founded in 1926, that later became a defense contractor and manufacturer of other consumer electronics, such as television sets. Teledyne acquired the business in 1978. In 1986, investors bought the name for a newly formed personal computer manufacturer. Originally the company produced discount computers in the US, later computers were produced for the European market. NEC took it over in the late 1990s. Acer acquired it in 2008. In spite of the similarity of their names, there has never been any corporate connection between the original or later Packard Bell and Hewlett Packard, or Bell System. Packard Bell is an international notebook manufacturer. Many years, the company focussed ruggedized laptops.
PB is not present in the smartphone/tablet market and a rather small manufacturer of laptops. There are hardly any reviews since 2015.
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
VIA S3G UniChrome Pro: The S3 UniChrome (Pro) is a DirectX 7 (without T&L) onboard graphic solution (shared memory) from VIA for laptops. Mainly, it is intended for office activities and hardly suited for 3D games.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300: The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 is part of the lower performance segment and the competitor card of the ATI X1300. Technically it is simply lower clocked GeForce Go 7300.
Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail):
Integrated GPU for tablet and notebook Bay Trail SoCs. Based on the Ivy Bridge GPU with four Execution Units and support for DirectX 11.

AMD Turion 64: This is a derivative of the Athlon 64 with SSE3 with nx storage protection, 32 and 64 bit support, integrated memory controller for PC3200 memory, mode for low capacity, HT800 and 2 variants ML with 35 Watt and MB with 25 Watt consumption. Regarding the consumption MT might be very similar to a Pentium M. The speed is moderate and approximately as fast as an Pentium M with equivalent clock speed.
Intel Core Duo: Double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption. The 2 MB L2 Cache are used together by the double. The maximum capacity of 31 watts is only 4 watts more than with the Pentium M (predecessor). Both cores are lowered automatically and independently of each other by speed steps down to 1 GHz. In addition it now supports also SSE3 instructions. At least it is just as fast as a equivalent Pentium M. With applications, which were designed for multi-processors, the performance can be nearly twice as fast as with the Pentium M (e.g. CineBench around 86% fast)
Intel Celeron:
N2830: Soc with an integrated dual core Atom processor clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and an Intel HD Graphics GPU.

2.9 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
62.67%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
