Over half of users surveyed would update to Windows 11 right now if they could
WindowsReport has published the results of a study of user sentiments concerning Windows 11 and the prospect of updating to this new OS version. The site claims to have based their findings on 11097 survey responses gathered from participants in 177 countries (with 22% identifying as being from the US). 11% of these respondents reported being on Windows 8 or older, while 51% claimed to be on the Insiders' track.
On that note, 17% of this group as a whole claimed to have been motivated to sign up for this program as a result of Microsoft's recent Windows 11 feature showcase. In addition, approximately 33% of the cohort exhibited increased enthusiasm for a new touchscreen device based on this launch - interestingly, this figure rose to 46% among the Windows 7 users.
On the other hand, almost 50% of the participants "don't like" the esthetics of the UI overhaul, although over 33% were reportedly more charitable when it came to the new Start menu, which is centered by default. Finally, even though 53% of responses to the idea of updating right away were positive (backlash notwithstanding), 23% of the total group have discovered that their current PC fails the official requirements for the upgrade.
