The Moto Z2 Force is set to get its first taste of Oreo in the coming weeks, with the company sending out a teaser to users of the device a few days ago.

The Moto Z2 Force is set to receive its first Oreo update soon. Users of the device received a teaser from the company a few days ago which promised that an Oreo update was on the way, with an ETA of "a few weeks".

The Z2 Force was released back in August and had a rather conflicting reception. On one hand, the device featured an impressive QHD display and top of the line specifications, making it a solid flagship offering by Motorola. On the other hand, it seemed to ignore most of the needs of expectant fans, ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack, offering a smaller battery than the first-gen device, and just all-around feeling like a cash grab by a company known for making some fan favorites. It's safe to say that the Z2 Force wasn't the most successful flagship of 2017.

Keeping with the trend of inadequacy, the Z2 Force is set to receive its first taste Oreo now, effectively positioning it among the last flagships to receive updates to the latest Android version. Flagships from Huawei, Sony, LG, HMD, and OnePlus have all gotten Oreo betas at the very least, so the Z2 Force sits right next to Samsung at the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, the Z2 Force is still available on T-Mobile for just US$375, which is a pretty sweet deal for a four-month-old flagship.
