The milestone represents a 67 percent growth for the company and places the manufacturer in the Top 10 ranking for the world's largest smartphone brand.

Oppo Electronics has announced through a brief press release that it had sold 50 million smartphones in 2015 for a YoY increase of 67 percent. As a result, analysts from Trend Force have now placed Oppo at number 8 in its top 10 list of world's largest smartphone brands. As a comparison, Huawei recently announced a sell-through of 100 million of its smartphones during the same time frame.

According to the Chinese Sino Market Research Ltd. group, Oppo sells a very healthy amount of smartphones in the 2000 to 3000 Yuan (280 to 420 EUR) range in brick-and-mortar locations. Oppo's strong performance in retail stores even puts it ahead of competitors like Vivo, Huawei Honor, and Samsung.

Oppo announced plans last year to expand its presence online and into retailers outside of its home territory. Key markets include nearby Asian countries, Africa, and the Middle East. Additionally, Oppo intends to sponsor sports games and fashion lines to boost its image to the public eye. As an example, the manufacturer is now an official partner of FC Barcelona and the ICC World Cricket League.

Oppo devices are already available directly to many European regions via direct imports on Europe.oppostyle.com.
