Based on an entry-level SoC, this 5-inch smartphone offers LTE connectivity and supports two SIM cards.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has announced a new budget smartphone, the Mirror 5s. While aesthetically impressive thanks to the crystal-like pattern on the back and a metal frame, it is quite modest on the hardware side. Here are the specifications:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (quad-core, 64-bit, 1.2 GHz)
  • Graphics: Qualcomm Adreno 306
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Storage: 16 GB, expandable (microSD up to 128 GB)
  • Display: 5-inch, 1280x720 pixels
  • Cameras: front - 5 MP, rear - 8 MP (f/2.2) with LED flash and HDR support
  • Connectivity: LTE (TDD/FDD, nano-SIM and micro-SIM), Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, microUSB 2.0 (OTG enabled)
  • Battery: 2420 mAh
  • Dimensions and weight: 143.4x71.2x7.65 mm, 160 g

Being an Oppo device, the Mirror 5s will use the manufacturer's own Color OS 2.1, which is based on Android 5.1. Oppo has not stated when exactly the smartphone will become available for purchase, but most probably it will appear on the shelves of Chinese and Taiwanese stores already this month. It is also very likely that Oppo will bring the Mirror 5s to other Asian markets such as India, but a global release is less certain. So far, the smartphone's price remains unknown, but judging by the hardware, it should be relatively low.
