OnePlus 9RT leak confirms design, camera upgrade and possible launch date
Pete Lau has hinted that OnePlus will announce something about a new 'T' smartphone tomorrow. Presumably a China-only announcement for the time being, Gizmochina believes that OnePlus will only confirm the device's launch date, rather than unveiling the device itself. However, Weibo has revealed the device to be the OnePlus 9RT, which has already appeared on Geekbench.
To that end, Evan Blass has teased that the OnePlus 9RT will arrive on October 13, albeit without stating where. Supposedly codenamed 'martin', the OnePlus 9RT will launch with a Snapdragon 888 SoC and up to 12 GB of RAM. By contrast, OnePlus sells the OnePlus 9R with the Snapdragon 870, a version of the Snapdragon 865, and up to 12 GB of RAM too.
Additionally, Blass has also leaked OnePlus 9RT marketing assets, shown below. While we are yet to see the device's front, the images confirm that the OnePlus 9RT has an upgraded primary camera and fewer cameras overall than its predecessor. The upcoming handset retains the two LED flashes from the OnePlus 9R, though. The presence of antenna lines suggests that the OnePlus 9RT has a metal frame too, mirroring the OnePlus 9R.
