The new fingerprint scanner is said to be even faster than Apple's Touch ID.

OnePlus developers have confirmed more details about the upcoming flagship on the official forums. A fingerprint scanner will indeed be included on the upcoming OnePlus 2 and will function similarly to Apple's Touch ID for unlocking the device.

According to OnePlus, PIN inputs for unlocking are now outdated. Instead, users will be able to quickly unlock their smartphones by simply tapping on them. A separate leak also claims that the sensor can even detect fingerprints on the back of the device. If true, the user can register up to five fingerprints on the OnePlus 2.

The manufacturer has been slowly releasing information on the upcoming flagship through OnePlus' official forums. What we know so far is that the smartphone will make use of a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, which promises none of the overheating issues that it is currently facing on certain devices. The OnePlus 2 will run on OxygenOS and will have a USB Type-C port. See our dedicated rumors and facts page here for more information.
