Nook tablet helps skyrocketing Nook family sales

Teaser
Barnes & Noble, the makers of Nook Tablet has announced a hike of their sales by 70 percent from last year’s figure

In a recent press release from Barnes & Noble they have announced that the sales of its Nook lineup were up by 70 percent from the last year. The Nook lineup includes the new Nook Tablet, the older Nook Color and the Nook Simple Touch E-Ink e-reader. However the major share of the sales is mostly because of the Nook Tablet.

The sale of the Nook Simple Touch was lower than expected. Because of the strong performance by Nook Tablet the company is considering the Nook unit to spin off as a separate business.

They believe that if anything like that happens, such a move would come after an evaluation process of intermediate length. Apart from this separation, Barnes & Noble also expect their business to continue growing year over year both in the US and abroad, because of their Nook Tablet.

Apart from all these, Barnes & Noble have not released their exact sales figures like other manufacturers like Amazon and even Kobo, the Canadian company. So it is really tough for to see how their sales stack up with one another.

The Sale of these low priced tablets has really pushed the sales of the tablet devices since their release. These devices including Amazon’s Kindle Fire have reported very high sales during the holiday season.
