HP is developing its first known mid-size Voodoo notebook in almost a year since the label was reinvented. It will be a high-end notebook boasting a big 15.6-inch display and will use an LED backlight that should both slim down the display panel, besides improving the battery life. Voodoo PC was acquired last year by HP.

The model is due for summer, when the eagerly awaited mobile Intel’s Core i7 should accompany it, making it a powerhouse for high-end performance. Another  feature is the aspect ratio of 16:9.

HP is also planning to launch business models with same displays size, although some more conventional 15.4-inch, 16:10 laptops are also due.

HP is rumored to shift much of its attention in the coming year to this new ratio and display size.
