A few days ago we saw Dell and Alienware launch some new notebooks based on Intel's latest Core i7 processors. Now, we are seeing a host of manufacturers catching up with the trend and releasing their own versions of the same. Asus has just jumped on to the scene with its latest offering the M60J which is based on Intel's Core i7 technology. Asus says that this notebook combines style with entertainment. It offers an HD display, great sound, one-touch multimedia controls, and much more.

Under the hood of the Asus M60J notebook lies either a 1.73GHz Intel Core i7 Processor 820QM or a 1.6GHz Intel Core i7 720QM CPU which can be overclocked up to 3.06GHz and 2.8GHz respectively. The system uses relatively fast DDR3 1333MHz RAM (max. 4GB). Other features of this notebook include: 

  • 16-inch HD 1366x768 resolution Color-shine display
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT240M with 1GB virtual memory
  • Up to 500GB HDD
  • DVD Super Multi/ Blu Ray DVD combo
  • 4-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS-Pro)

  • Dolby2 surround sound with Altec Lansing speakers
  • Ethernet, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, optional Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, Intel WiFi Link 5300
  • 1 Express card slot
  • 4 USB ports, VGA port, HDMI, eSATA port, IEEE1394, and audio in/out jacks
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • 6-cell 4800mAh battery
  • Dimensions: 37.5 x 26.5 x 3.43~4.06 cm
  • Weight: 3.3 kg (with 6 cell battery)

Not only this, the users get a host of software packages which are bundled with the machine. The device has a one-touch multimedia center that allows ease of access for videos, photos, music, etc.
