Red Fox releases the new N1020i
Red Fox brought out what could well be the first Bluetooth 3.0 netbook.
Red Fox is from Philippines, in case you did not know. If you want to take a break from the usual net books with four common shades, you should try these – how about banana yellow for a shade, or leaf green? New in the lineup of Red Fox is the ultraportable Wizbook N1021i.
Let’s talk about the exterior first. The whole body gives a glossy look, weighing 1.2kg for the 10.2” XGA TFT LCD Display model. The keyboard although doesn’t have any special appearance, but looks pretty comfortable to use. The M1021i is available in five colors – yellow, red, pink, green and black. The color covers most parts of the exterior and interior except the space around the monitor, the keyboard (excluding the trackpad) and at the side – which is matte black.
Powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor with a standard clocking of 1.6GHz, 32KB of L1 cache and 512KB of L2 cache, the Wizbook is adorned by a 1GB DDR2 667 memory support (upgradable to 2GB), and a hard disk capacity is up to 160GB. Connectivity is taken care of by the Wireless LAN 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth 3.0 –which is a first. It also offers a SD/MMC/MS Card Reader. Red Fox also throws in a 1.3MP Webcam.
The 6-cell 4600mAh should give decent life. The one-year warranty helps. You bring it home with Windows XP loaded. It should cost about 21,190 Philippine pesos ($440).
About Red Fox

It started with a series of motherboards as its main product line, later on producing other products like video cards, barebones, peripherals, and PC Systems. As part of stringent quality control, suppliers in Taiwan and China make sure that all Red Fox products are produced by qualified sub contract partners (ISO 9000) employing state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and techniques. They already have three other Wizbook models and two models called RN.
