The Beta Program started for the developers
ATI Stream technology is a set of advanced hardware and software technologies that enable AMD GPUs, to accelerate many third party applications beyond just graphics. The SDK is mainly for developers who can develop their own application that can become part of this Stream technology.
The v2.0 Beta 4 will be the first to come out with OpenCL GPU support, with support for Win 7. OpenCL starts the first truly open and royalty-free programming standard for general-purpose computations on heterogeneous systems. It also added native Microsoft Windows 64-bit support. Apart from these, there are a few bug fixes in place like Float comparisons in kernels no longer produce a runtime error.
Among the notebook graphics cards, this technology supports ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870, 4860, 4850X2, 4850, 4830, 4670, 4650, 4500 Series, 4300 Series, and the ATI Mobility FirePro M7740. It supports X86 CPU w/ SSE 3.x or later.
