A little bit late FSC tries to market the football-hype, which was raised by the world championship of football.

Thus Fujistu Siemens ornaments the display covers of a special edition of the Amilo Pi 1536 with the colors and signs of English football clubs. At present the fans of Celtic Glasgow, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspurs and FC Everton are provided, later further clubs of the English Primer League and also clubs of the remaining Europe are to follow. The special edition will cost about 1500 euro.

Features Fujistu-Siemens Amilo Pi 1536:

processor: Intel Core Duo T2300 1660 MHz (2MB L2 Cache/ 2.00GHz/ 667MHz FSB)
video card: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 - 512 MB
display: 15.4 inch 16:10, 1280x800 pixels
weight: 3100 g

Comments:

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 is the successor of the ATI Mobility Radeon X600. The specifications are equal like with X1300, but probably it is faster clocked. It is a mobile video card with a performance above average and can represent newest games fluently, but not with all details. For office applications and for surfing it is no doubt sufficient.

Intel Core Duo (successor of Pentium M), is a double core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption. The 2 MB L2 Cache are used common. The maximum current consumption of 31 Watts is only 4 W more then with Pentium M. Due to the low energy need is Core Duo also suited for subnotebooks. Further now it supports SSE3 orders. The performance can nearly be doubled for applications, which were designed for multiprocessors (compared with Pentium M).
The weaker variants like T2300 and T2400 are apt for office applications and surfing.

15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much current and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

In relation to display size the weight of this notebook is just about average and almost a bit too heavy.

FSC is one of the mayor international manufacturers with especially high market shares in Germany. In the German speaking countries many notebook-models of FSC are reviewed. Only few of these tested laptops achieve top positions according total rating and price/value rating.

There exist some reviews for the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pi1536
