Samsung presents the compact X360
The new Samsung notebook X360 gets solicited with the slogan “lighter than air”, and this refers to its weight compared to the MacBook Airs’ one.
Samsung introduced its new laptop X360 at the IFA. It is lighter than the MacBook Air, provides a bright screen, long battery life and also offers many connectors.
The installed processor is an Intel Centrino 2 ULV CPU with a FSB of 800 MHz or 1.066 MHz. The RAM can be up to 4 GB and the notebook offers a 13.3-inch display. The screen shows content with a resolution of 1.280 x 800 pixels and provides LED illumination.
The customer can decide between the two types of mass storage devices. A common hard drive with a capacity of 120 GB or a solid state drive with a disc size of 64 GB or 128 GB are available. Samsung included an external DVD burner as well.
The X360 also provides an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 and the battery offers a runtime up to 10 hours. A wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n adapter and a Bluetooth 2.0 module enable wireless communication. Furthermore, a 10/100/100 MBit port and a 7-in-1 card reader are also included.
The notebooks speciality is its anti-bacterial keyboard, which is 99% bacteria free. Furthermore, there are a HDMI port, three USB 2.0 ports, a PCI Express card slot, a VGA connector and a 1.3 mega pixel webcam built in. The Samsung X360 will be available in September and its price starts at € 1.599.
