MSI officially declares the X400 and X600
The new members of the X-Slim series look drop dead gorgeous.
MSI decided the expansion of its line of X-Slim notebooks with the introduction of the new X400 and X600 models, after the X340 has got rave reviews from critics.
“I believe MSI’s latest X-Slim Series is a complete line of products designed to set new industry standards and the introduction of the X-Slim Series will further strengthens our position in the notebook market and helps us reach a new development milestone,” said Mr. Joseph Hsu, chief executive officer of MSI.
X400
It sports a 14-inch display panel with 16:9 aspect ratio and "theatre-class" LED backlit screens. MSI adorned the outer edge by adding a silver trim to the edges and around the touchpad and the palm rest has a textured, leather-like covering – as observed by laptopmag. It will have 2GB of RAM, 250GB of hard disk and will be powered by Intel’s ULV processor. The 4-cell Li-poly battery should give about 4 hours of juice while keeping the weight to 1.5kg.
X600
The X600 is the largest of the product line with a 16-inch display. Its larger display allows for a full size keyboard with a numeric keypad. Unlike the X340 and the X400, the 16-inch X600 will have a 512MB ATI 430 discrete graphics card. It will be powered by the Intel Core 2 Solo 3500 processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive and comes with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
Both models are less than one-inch thick and are featured with a 16:9 theater-call LED screen, full I/O ports and optional Blu-ray drives.
The new X-Slim X400 and X600 notebooks should be made available in the second quarter of 2009.Pricing is not revealed yet.
