Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PTZ up for pre-order in the UK

This mini-notebook will start shipping on January 25th next year.

As Notebookcheck reported earlier, the Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PTZ is coming to Europe. The small “subnotevertible” is allegedly now available to customers in the United Kingdom for pre-order.

Configuration

Acer’s mini-laptop is powered by Intel’s Pentium Dual-Core ULV SU4100 central processor unit with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The stylish netbook also houses 3GB of memory, a 160GB rotating hard drive and the Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics controller.

Apparently, what sets this device apart from the other mini-notebooks is the convertible display. The Timeline 1820PTZ is equipped with an 11.6-inch HD LED-backlit LCD display with a maximum resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels.  It comes with an integrated multi-touch enabled screen which allegedly supports finger touch and a stylus input. The flexible netbook could reportedly also be used as a digital photo frame or for presentations and the built-in accelerometer would rotate your images.

Connectivity

The Aspire Timeline 1820PTZ features Intel’s WiFi Link 1000 adapter that delivers 802.11 b/g/N-Draft connectivity. In addition, the small notebook sports three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI output with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), an RJ-45 and one VGA port. It comes with an Acer Crystal Eye web camera for video chatting over the Internet. 3G connectivity is also available to consumers as an option.

Other specs/Pricing/Availability

The netbook ships with a pre-installed Windows 7 Professional 64bit operation system. Furthermore, users may take advantage of the 6-cell battery which reportedly runs for up to 8 hours.

The non-3G Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PTZ weighs 1.72 kg (3.79 lbs.) and is priced at £529.99. Supposedly, it will start shipping on January 25th, 2010.
