Super Talent SSD’s get cheaper

Category: notebook components

The manufacturer Super Talent produces its SSD’s with a new manufacturing technique and can therefore offer the drives cheaper.

Super Talent expands its product line by adding new 2.5" SSD’s with 30, 60 or 120 GB disk size. The manufacturer uses the Multi-Level-Cell manufacturing technique for producing those drives and therefore the disks get cheaper.

The chips product life got enlarged by a new firmware, which spaces the write accesses equally. The 30 GB model costs $ 299 and this is less than other SSD cost. The 60 GB and 80 GB SSD cost $ 449 and $ 699.

Anyhow, the solid state drives are still more expansive than normal hard disks and especially the cheap models don't perform much better than fast 2.5" harddrives.
