The internet website Digitimes report, that Asus will bring their second generation Eee PC earlier on the market as scheduled. The original target date was June 2008, but now they want to deliver the Eee PC in Taiwan in the second half of April.

A reason for this changed strategy is the rising competition of other manufacturers and their low-budget notebooks. Therefore, Asus won’t equip its second generation Eee PC with Intels Atom CPU and they are going to use an Intel Celeron ULV CPU.

The new Intel Atom CPU will be installed in Asus third generation Eee PC. Asus wants to be their new Eee PC as successful as their actual Eee PC is, and they want to get advantages by changing their strategy.
