To protect the viewing angle of your machine
Now we are trying to protect the viewing angle of the laptop. A privacy filter is a piece of plastic that you place over your laptop display to reduce the viewing angle of the system, so that when you look at it from a straight angle it appears fine but the person sitting next to you can’t see a thing.
3M is reportedly making filters for 10” netbook display panels. One can check them out at the 3M site. In a nutshell, if you’ve got a 10.1 or 10.2 inch screen, you can probably use one of the company’s filters which are available from Amazon for $30.82.
