MSI launches the CR720 notebook

The new laptop will feature a 2010 Intel Core CPU

According to a press release, MSI will out a new portable computer. The CR720 will reportedly deliver “outstanding entertainment capabilities”.


MSI Notebook Marketing Director Sam Chern has indicated that the CR720 will feature Intel’s latest Arrandale platform and will be powered by the new 2010 Intel Core processors (i3; i5). The laptop will be equipped with a 17.3-inch LED backlit HD+ display with a maximum resolution of 1600-by-900 pixels. Allegedly, it will house up to 4GB of DDR3 1066MHz memory, up to a 500GB rotating 2.5-inch SATA hard drive and Intel’s HD graphics controller. Customers can also take advantage of the built-in DVD Super-Multi optical drive.


The basic configuration will supposedly include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/draft-N and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity. In addition, the CR720 will sport three USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI interface and a 4-in-1 card-reader slot. The new laptop will also pack an integrated 1.3MP web camera, two speakers and a subwoofer.

Other specs

It has also been unveiled that MSI’s new portable computer will come with a Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The weight of the device will allegedly be less than 3kg (≈6.61lbs) with a 6-cell battery. Featuring a chiclet keyboard and a “seamless” touchpad, the CR720 has a MSI “ECO Engine Power Management System”, meaning users can switch among 5 different modes - Movie, Gaming, Office, Presentation, and Turbo Battery mode.
