Foxconn Technology Group is the foremost provider of joint-design, joint-development, manufacturing, assembly, and after-sales services to global Computer, Communication and Consumer-electronics leaders. Recently, Foxconn displayed its new netbook called the SZ901. The hardware specifications of this netbook are similar to other netbooks available in the market i.e. Intel Atom N270 processor, Intel 945 chipset, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, 3-cell battery, WiFi, and built-in 3G module. This netbook has a 10.1-inch glossy display (1024x600 resolution) and a shiny exterior.
The feature that is pulling everyone’s attention is that the SZ901 uses the latest version of Linpus Linux Lite which is based on Moblin 2.0 (which was recently released by Intel). This is the first netbook to give users a preview of the Linpus OS. The details about this OS have not been disclosed yet, as the company is planning to showcase it during the Computex trade fair, which starts in a couple of days. Users will have to wait and watch to see how this OS fairs against the likes of Linux, Windows XP, etc.
