Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA will get the upgrades.
The first Pineview i.e. Atom N450 should be round-the-corner. It is supposed to come out in the first week of January, and so is the understandable rush among various netbook brands to prepare new and upgraded systems for launching alongwith the N450. Asus’ bid on this will be upgrades of two popular models – the Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA Seashell. They will be called Eee PC 1005P and 1008P netbooks respectively. In fact 1005P will have a sibling called the 1005PE. Details on these systems are revealed recently. The Asus Eee PC 1005P will sport a 10.1-inch display panel and will be powered by a 1.66GHz N450 Atom Pineview, 1GB of memory, 160GB of hard disk space and should arrive with Windows 7 Starter pre-loaded, in white and black variance – as reported by Netbookchoice.
The Asus Eee PC 1005PE, on the other hand, will be similar to the 1005P except for the 250GB hard disk and a built-in Bluetooth module. The 1008P should have the 1.66GHz N450 Atom processor, 1GB RAM and 250GB hard disk space.
Intel is getting ready to launch its latest PineTrail platform which will support the Pineview processor which basically houses the processor and the graphics core on the same single chip thereby reducing the number of chips from 3 to 2.
