Tablet has become the latest craze, and specifically the 10-inch ones because of the optimum size shape and resolution it offers. The 3rd generation tablets are powered by the Intel Pinetrail or likewise processors. Sasha from Netbooknews did a comparison of three of the popular 10-inch Pinetrail tablet and comes up with a winner – reports Netbooked.
The Tablets in question are the Gigabyte T1000, Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t and the Viliv S10 Blade. Both the T1000 and S10 have 1366 x 768 displays, whereas the S10-3t comes with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
The S10-3t and T100 are available with Atom N470 processors with clocking speed of 1.83GHz; the S10 has either an Atom Z530 or Z550 processor with 1.6GHz and 2GHz. No accelerometers on any of them, but all of them support multi-touch.
The S10 has a resistive 3-point display vs capacitive 2-point on the S10-3t. the Gigabyte T1000 has actually two models out of which the More expensive one (T1000P) has a capacitive screen, and the T1000X comes with a resistive screen.
Sasha reports the keyboard of the S10-3t as better than that on the T1000 or the S10, although he says he prefers the touchpad on the S10 to the other two. Also the T100 display can be rotated only towards left, unlike the other two where you can rotate it both ways. They all feel solid though at the hinge.
The Viliv S10 is the slimmest of the three. All the models come with or without 3G connectivity. With a decent configuration the S10 will be the most expensive. Overall, the Viliv S10 reigns.
