MSI’s latest baby is aimed at those who like gaming on the go or uncompromising mobile media. Like the other P-series notebooks, the GT627 gets a shell trimmed in black anondized aluminum with red accents, along with MSI’s Turbo Drive engine for pushing the notebook to its limits when power isn’t an issue, and the Eco Engine power management for when it is. Hardwarezone reported that touching the turbo button above the keyboard while the GT627 is in AC mode will immediately increase the speed of your CPU (slightly overclocked).

It comes with the large 15.4” WSXGA LCD monitor with 1680x1050 maximum resolutions. You have the choice of powering it with either a Penryn-based or an FSB 1066-based Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. With 7.1 channel output, it should provide rich sound to the sincere gamer. The company claims of highest standards of Dolby multimedia experience. Other multimedia applications include: the latest E- SATA support, high-definition multimedia interface, 2.0 mega pixels web cam.

But what they advertise most is the latest powerful NVIDIA Geforce 9800M GS 3D graphic card (Build-in DDR3 1GB VRAM) and exclusive MSI vivid image enhancement technology. With increased performance over previous enthusiast class GPUs, the GeForce 9800M GS promises powering the next generation of visual computing, blazing-fast mobile gaming, and the ultimate HD experience with PureVideo® HD technology. This product also seems to be enabled for CUDA applications and is NVIDIA PhysX-ready.

The GT627 selects a brand new ECO Engine as the power management function to extend the battery running time while performing different tasks. Touching the ECO quick launch touch sensor repeatedly switches  among the 5 different modes – Gaming mode, Movie mode, Presentation mode, Office mode, and Turbo Battery mode while performing game applications, playing multimedia applications, performing presentation applications, dealing with office documentation tasks, or looking forward to minimizing the battery power consumption.
