Nvidia Ion 2 - Dream or Reality?

Acer has placed orders for the Nvidia Ion 2 chipset
We have been hearing quite a lot about the fact that Nvidia is getting ready to launch Nvidia Ion 2 later this year or latest by Q1 next year. In another news report by DigiTimes, it is being said that Acer has already placed an order with Nvidia for the new Ion 2 based chipset. This means that the Nvidia Ion 2 might actually be a reality and moreover it also points out to the fact that Acer is prepping a laptop based on the same. Nvidia is planning to make the new Nvidia Ion 2 chips compatible with Intel’s new Pinetrail processors i.e. the Atom N450, Atom N470, etc. Nvidia is also planning to add support for VIA processors. The new Nvidia Ion 2 chipset is believed to offer up to 2x the performance of the previous Ion version. The Ion 2 will have a smaller die and will have more shaders (It might rise to 32) that means faster graphics. Since, the Pinetrail platform has the graphics and the CPU in the same chip, the Nvidia Ion 2 chip will most probably act as a discreet graphics chip contrary to the earlier version i.e. Ion GeForce 9400M/MCP 79 chipset.
The predecessor to the Nvidia Ion 2 i.e. the Nvidia Ion and the Nvidia Ion LE have received quite a good response from manufacturers like Asus, Acer, Lenovo, etc. It would be good to see the Ion 2 chipset getting the same response.
