Asus: Asus Eee PC 1015PN netbook all set for an October appearance

The Eee PC 1015PN will be Asus’ first netbook with NVIDIA ION graphics

The Asus brand is gearing up to take the market by storm with the launch of the brand new Asus Eee PC 1015PN. The netbook set to debut this October will be the very first of the 10-inch laptops with NVIDIA ION graphics produced by Asus.

The Asus Eee PC 1015PN will sport a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and Windows 7 Home Premium OS. These features will make this model achieve a higher benchmark than the Asus Eee PC 1015PED and 1015PEM, although looks wise the trio are quite identical with the matte finish touchpad and the keyboard design.

The laptop will possess either a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N475 single core processor or a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core chip, the company is still undecided on that account. However the NVIDIA ION chip chosen to be a part of the system would be the lower end version of the two versions offered by NVIDIA which is specifically meant to be best suited for 10-inch and smaller devices as opposed to the higher end chip meant for 11.6-inch and higher screen sizes. The chip used for the Asus Eee PC 1015PN will easily deliver 1080p HD Video graphical output without much effort. Note that the NVIDIA ION is actually a platform that constitutes an Intel Atom CPU and an NVIDIA Nvidia's GeForce 9400M (MCP79) chipset – and supports DDR3 RAM.

The model, meant for US buyers, is still in its final stages of completion however the notebook is already up for purchase in several parts of the world including France where pre-order sales are underway for a price of $399 Euros.
