HP Mini 2140 now available for order
HP’s premium category Netbook is now available for order.
This is no news that the Netbook market has exploded in 2008, and world’s biggest player doesn’t sit idle to it. HP is all set to take the Netbook market by storm with the announcement of HP Mini 2140 available for order. This business-grade netbook packs a 10.1 inch display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, Integrated VGA camera and a 160GB hard drive. It supports 802.11a/b/g/draft-n and Bluetooth 2.0. And it has the same sturdy aluminum case and excellent keyboard as the HP 2133 Mini-Notebook.
Its price ranges from $499 to $779 and seven variants are available. The KS143UT variant has the same configuration mentioned above. For $30 more, you’ll get an extended battery life of 8 ½ hr. from the previous 5 hr one by getting a 6-cell battery. The third $549 variant (KS145UT) gives you Vista instead of XP and 2GB of RAM, up from the previous 1GB RAM variants. But it compromises on the battery life. Similar with the case of the fourth variant which comes for $629 (which is $130 more than the first one) where you’ll have to be content with a 4 hr. battery life, but get the same configuration as the $549 variant – only a faster hard drive at 7200 rpm.
The last three variants come for $649, $679 and $779 and don’t offer any significant up gradation.
The HP Mini 2140 should be available in the UK for £379 next month.
