DFI, the leading name in the field of high-performance motherboard design and production, has recently launched a hybrid motherboard tagged as Hybrid P45-ION-T2A2 which combines the services of both Intel's P45+ICH10R chipset and NVIDIA's ION platform and provides the collective service on a single platform.

The DFI hybrid platform supports two platforms - The first platform consists P45 + ICH10R chipset where you need to install an Intel processor, DDR2 memory and a graphics card. As for the second platform, it is NVIDIA ION based with an integrated Atom N230 processor where you only need to install SO-DIMM DDR2 memory. Both the platforms have their separate HDD system but they will be sharing the same USB ports. The new motherboard is equipped with an integrated HDMI and DVI-I ports and an on-board audio chip features support for 7.1 channel HD Audio.

DFI has taken a big step in the field of green products by producing a Hybrid platform motherboard. There are lots of advantages of using Hybrid electronic products some of them are as follows:

  • Power Saving: According to recent Lab tests more than 65% of energy can be saved by using Hybrid platform therefore less amount of energy is consumed and lesser carbon dioxide is emitted.
  • Space Saving: With built in hardware switch and network switch chips you require only a monitor, keyboard and mouse to run Hybrid platform.
  • Money Saving: Hybrid equipments not only reduces electricity bills but also saves lots of cash as Hybrid platform has got integrated hardware switch and LAN switch due to which you can use same set of equipments for both systems.
  • Fast and time saving: This hybrid platform is very fast in it’s operations and thus saves lots of time.

The only thing going against hybrid P45 ION board is the price of this hybrid platform. Ready for shipment from 27th of November 2009 this hybrid motherboard will be available to consumer with an expected price of nearly $400 which is quiet high.
