Origin introduced the EON15 Gaming Laptop

Overview

The US company Origin, which focuses on building gaming computers, has allegedly introduced a new high-performance notebook. The EON 15 is their latest creation that sports an all new 2010 Intel Core CPU.

By teaming up with Killer Paint the company supposedly fulfills one of its main goals, namely to offer its customers the chance to design their new portable gaming PC.

Configuration

The Origin EON 15 is powered by a Quad-Core processor in form of either an Intel Core i7-720QM or a Core i7-820QM. The first has a clock speed of 1.6GHz (max. 2.8GHz) and 6MB of cache and the latter delivers a core frequency of 1.73GHz (max. 3.06GHz) and 8MB cache. Both central processing units come with Intel’s Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technologies.

Origin’s new laptop is equipped with a 15.6-inch LED-backlit widescreen with a maximum supported resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels, which will enable users to enjoy Full HD 1080p videos. Furthermore, the EON 15 houses up to 8GB of internal 1333MHz DDR3 memory, up to a 500GB mechanical hard drive (HDD) that rotates at 7200RPM and up to a 250GB solid-state drive (SSD).  

Graphics are taken care by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M video card with 1GB of dedicated GDDR3 VRAM. In addition, this gaming system ships with an integrated dual layer Blu-Ray Burner Combo.

Connectivity

The Origin EON 15 features built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/draft-N and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR adapters that will let you stay connected.

In terms of ports, this portable computer reportedly comes with four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, DVI-I, an HDMI interface with HDCP support and one eSATA port. Also available is a 7-in-1 media card reader slot.

Other specs and Pricing

Customers can purchase the notebook with up to a pre-installed copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit operating system. According to the company, the laptop weighs 7.3lbs (3.31kg) with the removable Polymer Smart Lithium-Ion battery.

Further features include a full size chiclet keyboard with a numeric pad, a multi-gesture touchpad and High-Definition Audio with 7.1 Digital Surround Sound support.

Reportedly, the Origin EON 15 has a starting price of US $1,899 (€1,405/£1,265).
