The chipset demand is said to be 20% higher than that of CPU
Intel experiences a sharp rise in the demand of its chipset units of late, mainly from the motherboard-makers like Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI etc. The rise has been enough to propel the chipset sale 20% than that of its processors – as reported by Digitimes. Note that the American CPU giant recently faced a tight supply with its laptop CPUs as well, after Acer placed a very big order. Also most of these chipset demands are coming from the East Asian OEMs.
