Amazon offers OLPC XO notebooks
Amazon will include the XO laptop from One Laptop Per Child into their product range in November.
Amazon will offer the OLPC XO notebook from November 17th in their webshop. The device will cost $ 400 and the customer archives a good cause when buying one of those laptops.
For the $ 400 the customer buys two XO notebook. One is sent to the customer and another one gets shipped to a child in a developing country. Therefore, the high price tag.
Presently, this sales deal will be available at Amazon USA only, but they are thinking about expanding it to other countries as well. The XO notebook offers a 7.5-inch display, a 1 GB flash memory and 256 MB RAM. Linux gets included as operating system and a wireless LAN adapter provides connectivity.
