The new MSI U230 with Dual core processor

Category: new notebook models

It comes with an updated processor and graphics card

The Wind U210 was quite successfully accepted when it came out. Now MSI decides to release the updated version of it called the Wind12 U230 with a very interesting configuration indeed. The 12” machine has an AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual-Core Processor that is made specifically for the ultrathin notebooks. The 12.1” display panel plays at a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio and HD ready (not full HD which is always better) with a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The battery included is probably a 3-cell battery because the company claims only up to 4 hrs of battery life. With this battery the system weighs 1.3kg which is quite lightweight for a 12” system. The HDMI output should give a TV output experience.

In contrast the older U210 is powered by an AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor, accompanied by the ATI Radeon Xpress X1250 graphics card. The U230 comes with the ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics and also pre-loaded with Windows 7. It also looks sleeker and more exotic than the U210. Rests of the features of the U210 are same with the U230.

The pricing and availability of this new system is not known yet.
