Toshiba presents 256 GB SSD

Toshiba introduced a new solid state drive which offers a disk size of 256 GB.
The manufacturer Toshiba expands its solid state drive range by a new drive with 256 GB. The SSD is equipped with a MLC flash memory and gets connected to the computer by an SATA 2 port.
The new SSD offers a special controller and Toshiba says that this device enables a reading speed of up to 120 MB/sec. Furthermore, a writing speed of up to 70 MB/sec is possible.
Toshiba wants to start the mass production of their new SSD in the 4th quarter of 2008. No word about prices so far.
