Transcend brought four new high speed SSD’s on the market. The devices are 2.5-inch disks and they get connected to the computer by using a SATA II connector. They provide disk sizes of 32 GB and 64 GB.

The installed JMicron controller enables the high speed of the SATA II disks. The solid state drives are equipped with MLC- and SLC-NAND flash chips. The SLC version reaches a reading speed of 119 MB/s and writing speed of 64 MB/s and is available with a disk size of 32 GB and 64 GB.

The MLC versions are also available with 32 GB and 64 GB and they reach a reading speed of 119 MB/s and a reading speed of 49 MB/s. The SSD’s only need 0.5 watts while reading and writing and 0.1 watts in idle mode and 0.06 watts when using standby mode.

The new solid state disks by Transcend cost € 99 with 32 GB (MLC), € 299 with 32 GB (SLC), € 199 with 64 GB (MLC) and € 549 with 64 GB (SLC).
