The long rumored Samsung N510 Ion is finally likely to be an actual release.
There has been a constant rumor of Samsung coming up with a netbook that’s powered by NVIDIA’s ion platform. The first such netbook was the Lenovo Ideapad S12. But now the rumor has gained a lot of ground, and finally an actual piece looks quite likely.
It is powered by the above-mentioned ION platform that combines an NVIDIA 9400M with an Atom N280 Processor. Apart from that it gives you a 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Webcam, 6-Cell Li-Ion Battery and Windows XP Home. The N510 (NP-N510-KA02UK) has an 11.6-inch LED backlit display panel with a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
It is expected to start walking the street in July at a retail price of around 600 euros – according to Netbook Italia. That makes it an expensive US $840. The 6-cell battery promises a good life.
