Sony recalls Vaio T_Z Series due to overheating
Sony announced that it was aware of an overheating problem with its TZ notebooks and is urging customers to bring units for repairs. According to the Sony’s announcement, the overheating might affect any VAIO in the TZ Line (including VGN-TZ100 series, VGN-TZ200 series, VGN-TZ300 series). Sony has received 15 reports of overheating, including a customer who suffered a minor burn. The problem are irregularly positioned wires near the computer’s hinge and/or a dislodged screw inside the hinge whitch can cause a short circuit and overheating. Sony has initiated a voluntary program to perform a free inspection and, if necessary, a repair.
